Leadership

• Voted House Captain at primary school of the ‘Norman’ house.
• Voted Form Captain on several occasions at secondary school.
• Voted into the School Captain team. My responsibilities included in particular the drafting of and adherence to the Prefect rota.

Debating

• Elected ‘Prime Minister’ in my final year at primary school (in 1997) following three debates.
• Elected as representative for the class at the School Council many times.
• Invited to seat as a member of the Swale Youth Forum on behalf of the school between 1999 and 2004.
• Asked to cover for others at short notice in the school’s debating society. We reached the regional final in the Cambridge Debating Society’s schools competition.

Computing

• GCSE graded A* in Information Technology.

Software

• Confident with Microsoft Windows operating systems from 3.1 to Vista.
• Experience with Ubuntu Linux operating systems from 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon to 8.04 Hardy Heron.
• Background knowledge of Apple OS X.

• Confident with Microsoft Office suites from version 95 to 2007.
• Experience with OpenOffice.org productivity suite.

• Experience with mathematical packages including Maple, Fortran 90, Minitab and R.
• Growing experience with LaTeX.

Web Development

• Experienced web designer and WordPress theme developer. Portfolio includes:

• Excellent working knowledge of XHTML and CSS.
• Experience with PHP and MySQL.
• Some knowledge of Ruby on Rails.

Music

• GCSE graded A in Music.

• Learnt to play the recorder at school and performed both solo and in the school orchestra.
• Learnt to play the keyboards and performed in small groups at school music evenings.
• Taught myself to play the guitar, bass guitar and drums.
